Pink Rose on Old Board

A single pink rose, its petals swirled in thick strokes of rose, crimson and white, rises on one green stem from a blue beer mug on a yellow tabletop, against a dark fireplace.

This old cutting board came to me with the house in Abruzzo. And the old rose, too, which regularly bloomed in front of the house, but there was always only one flower. And an old beer mug, which I, following Morandi's example, painted the inside with blue oil paint. So there was a still life — a lonely pink rose in a blue beer mug against the background of a dark fireplace. Strength and loneliness and elegance.

DECORATIVE BOARDS (author's warning):

My works from the "Boards" series are small oil paintings on wood, mostly still life. The boards are varnished, however these are paintings, they are not intended for cutting food in the kitchen. Place them on the wall, not on the table. Best of all, given their size, on the wall of a small room. On the same kitchen wall, for example.
