Chives Flower and Laurel Leaves

This painting is done on a piece of engineered wooden floorboard with a dark, almost black background. Chives bloom in March — one of the first spring flowers. It is surprising for its strength and beauty, and there is a contrast to the old radio standing in my atelier. This still life is a part of my series «Night Still Life», the paintings with a very dark background.

DECORATIVE BOARDS (author's warning)

My works from the "Boards" series are small oil paintings on wood, mostly still life. The boards are varnished, however these are paintings, they are not intended for cutting food in the kitchen. Place them on the wall, not on the table. Best of all, given their size, on the wall of a small room. On the same kitchen wall, for example.
